Service is Beautiful

Q&A with this municipal champion

How did you get involved with local government?

I wanted to either work in the non-profit sector or government, and when I was looking, the job with Golden came up and it just worked out. [In addition] public service and helping people has always appealed to me!

How did you first hear about SeamlessGov?

I was looking for a solution that does online signatures and offers other online form capabilities.

Initially it was just me (looking for a form eSignature solution) but eventually some other departments expressed interest so I started the search again and found SeamlessDocs. We saw a web demonstration, found the budget across departments and it seemed to be a good fit.

I’m the only person managing the website so also being the sort of document builder with SeamlessDocs, it’s a challenge to get every department using it on their own

Why did you decide to go paperless?

Ever since I began working here, I’ve had an ongoing battle with PDFs - I kind of hate them.

So almost immediately, I was looking for a solution that does online signatures and offers other online form capabilities.

I’m the only person managing the website so having the sort of document builder SeamlessDocs has was huge.

"[With SeamlessDocs] we were able to create an online form where community members could just check the board or committee that they wanted to apply to and it was all online. It just made the process a lot easier for our city council members reviewing the applications, and for our users who didn’t have to print out the form, fill it out, and mail it."

What was implementation like?

We were also undergoing a website redesign so I was very busy, but it went smoothly.

My success manager was great - and every time I have had a problem, they were right on it. Additionally, the Fire Department actually really took off with it. They had a big meeting for [learning SeamlessDocs] and with the Success Manager helping them and making it work, they were able to onboard and get going really quickly.

Lauren has been my savior in my short time using SeamlessDocs. Nothing has been urgent enough that I have had to make her stop what she was doing, but she was always there.

One form or process that's been changed by SeamlessGov?

The Boards & Commissions application.

People would have to download different forms for each board or application for everything they wanted to apply to.

But we were able to create an online form where they could just check the board or committee that they wanted to apply to and it was all online.

It just made the process a lot easier for our city council members and for our users who didn’t have to print out the form, fill it out, and mail it.

Favorite SeamlessGov Feature?

Save & Complete Later: We weren’t able to do long forms. People would get into the forms and just wouldn’t have all the information on hand [so wouldn’t be able to finish] Other than that - it’s eSignatures, the ability to eSign. That was the feature that made me look for a solution in the first place.

Advice for another municipality just starting out with SeamlessGov?

Do the full SeamlessUniversity. It will save you a lot of time and answer questions.

On the product side, before going in and building forms, I would test to make sure everything works and it’s behaving correctly, because I know the temptation is to just go ahead and publish right after you build forms and documents.
