Old Process

The future of government shouldn't involve a fax machine.

We were experiencing missed trash and recycling pickups from our contracted service provider. They'd miss a few houses, whole streets or sometimes a portion or an entire route. We were receiving calls from residents to different departments, the city manager, the mayor and council members. We did not have a form for this process. We have one staff liaison that works with the vendor. She'd have to gather the information and type that up to send to our service provider.

New Process

In minutes we were able to convert the existing process into a smart online experience.

We needed a better way for our residents to report a missed pickup so we could remove the burden from council and staff members as well as track the service provided (or not provided) by our vendor. We created the service complaint form and notified everyone, including our residents, of the form. It made it easier for residents to submit a complaint after hours, provided a way for us to track service and allowed the liaison to simply forward the forms to the appropriate vendor contact.
